Join us for an engaging and insightful presentation by Dennis Kidder, W6DQ, on the exciting world of microwave operations for amateur radio enthusiasts. Dennis will share his experiences as a member of the San Bernardino Microwave Society, along with his extensive background in amateur radio and engineering.

Dennis is a retired systems engineer with a remarkable 40-year career in the aerospace industry, contributing to projects ranging from satellites to battlefield communications. In addition to his professional achievements, Dennis has been deeply involved in amateur radio for decades. His interests span from weak signal V/UHF/microwave operations to restoring vintage radio equipment.

For the past six years, Dennis has worked with hams from three special interest radio clubs to bring amateur radio to the maker community at Maker Faires across California. The maker community, filled with technically-minded individuals, offers a unique opportunity to showcase the “techie” side of ham radio to a new audience.

 

Dennis’s contributions to the amateur radio world include leadership and membership in various organizations:
