What started out as 2 or 3 amateur operators trying to figure out how to send Automated Packet Reporting System (APRS) text messages to each other on their Yaesu FT3 handheld radios turned into a weekly worldwide APRS net spanning 24 hours every Thursday and drawing nearly 500 operators in less than a year. Make plans to attend the Henderson Amateur Radio Club’s June meeting to learn more about how #APRSTHURSDAY was conceived, what it is, how it works, and how you can be a part of it.
