2m Simplex Activity Tonight at 8 PM
August 31 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Tonight, August 31, at 8 PM, I will be on 146.520 MHz trying to stir up activity. Inevitably, in the event of a prolonged power failure, we will all end up using something like simplex as repeaters will eventually run out of power. This is a good way to check the range of your setup.
I will take check-ins based on the city where you are located at the moment: Henderson, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and unincorporated Clark County.
Please have a notepad with a working writing device so you can keep track of who you hear and how well you hear them.
For example, you’re located in unincorporated Clark County patiently waiting your turn. As you patiently wait your turn, you’ll write down the stations you hear and how well you are hearing them. If you’re in Henderson, you’ll patiently wait for me to finish seeing who else is there by taking the same notes.
After I finish each city, I will ask for any relays. Those are relays for that specific area that’s being called. Please don’t try to jump the line.
There is a remote base that monitors 146.520 MHz in the same repeater shack as our club’s H4 repeater on Blue Diamond. For those with only an HT, please monitor here. I’ll take check-ins from the “Cheater Repeater” after all running pure simplex setups are done. Please note that the repeater is somewhat closed as it runs split tones. Please do not publicly share the input tone in a forum such as GroupsIO, etc.
