TEK NET

The Henderson Amateur Radio Club is pleased to present our Tek Net every Sunday evening, starting at 8pm local time (0300 UTC).

The audio portion of the Tek Net will be found on the Henderson Amateur Radio Club Repeater Network (RF).  The audio may also be accessed via Echolink (W7HEN-R node 740644) and Allstar (node 44045).

The audio will refer to this page, so that the listener can more fully understand the concepts as they are presented.

All are welcome!

“Ask the Pros”, or our ever popular “Stump the Chumps” night.

This is your chance to bring your questions, comments and ideas concerning electronics, radio communications, FCC rules & regulations, home-brew building or anything ham radio to the groups discussion.

Do you have a project your working on? Let’s hear about it.

Did you use information that you got from a previous Tek Net, I want to hear about too.

The Tek Net is for everyone’s use.

It was brought up 2 weeks ago, that it would fun to hear about some of the stories that folks have concerning using test equipment or was trying to “Fix” something and it didn’t exactly go as expected.

I know that over the many years I spent repairing two-way radios that I had my share of Boo-Boo moments. Some, pretty exciting to say the least.

That will be on the schedule for next Sunday September 25, 2022.

Whether your experience resulted in a little smoke or a lot of smoke or even just a little “pop”, I’m sure it will be entertaining ( and maybe a little embarrassing) but will bring a smile to everyone.

If you have a funny story about something you did, send me a note so I can get it on a list to call from next week.

One of the great things about Amateur Radio is that so many discussions on the radio and events experienced become “Lessons learned” and if there was some smoke involved, that just helps to remember that even better.

If you have a suggestion or an idea for a Tek Net topic, send a message to wb6amt@cox.net or a text to 702-372-9891.

…until next time, 73.
